Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

What is Traumatic Brain Injury?

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is a disruption in normal brain function caused by a bump, blow, jolt to the head, or penetrating head injury. According to the CDC, everyone is at risk for a TBI, with children and older adults being especially vulnerable. The effects of TBI vary widely, depending on the severity and location of the injury.

How TBI May Impact Daily Life

Each individual with TBI experiences different challenges, which may include:
✔ Difficulty with memory, attention, and problem-solving
✔ Changes in coordination, balance, and movement abilities
✔ Speech and language difficulties
✔ Emotional and behavioral changes, including anxiety or mood swings
✔ Fatigue and sensory sensitivities

These challenges can make daily activities, work, and relationships more difficult, but the brain has the ability to change and adapt when provided with the right conditions.

How MoveAbilities® Can Help

At MoveAbilities®, we focus on what is possible rather than on limitations. Through Anat Baniel Method NeuroMovement®, we engage the brain’s natural ability to re-organize and create new neural connections.

Our brain-based approach helps individuals with TBI:
✔ Improve mobility and coordination
✔ Enhance focus, memory, and cognitive function
✔ Strengthen speech and communication skills
✔ Regulate emotions and reduce stress
✔ Increase independence and confidence

By providing a supportive environment and tailored movement lessons, MoveAbilities® helps individuals with TBI discover new pathways for learning, healing, and recovery.
